Panos Tsoleridis

Panos Tsoleridis is a part-time Research Fellow at the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS) working on the NEXUS and SYNERGY projects. His main research interests lie in utilising emerging data sources for travel demand modelling and in identifying cross-synergies between econometric choice model specifications and data-driven machine learning algorithms in the context of activity-based demand modelling. His work so far focusses on specifying and estimating large-scale spatial choice models, capturing the impact of spatial correlation among destination alternatives, identifying latent choice sets and utilising machine learning approaches as integral components of choice models.

Panos completed his PhD titled "Leveraging GPS-based trip diaries for modelling individual mobility behaviour" in June 2022 at ITS under the supervision of Prof. Charisma Choudhury and Prof. Stephane Hess.
