Hajime Watanabe
Hajime Watanabe is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Tokyo, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Kumamoto University in 2022 and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo. He has been serving as an Assistant Professor since 2023. Currently, he is on sabbatical and visiting the ITS for 12 months, supported by the Kajima Foundation’s Researcher Exchange Support Program. His research interests include travel behaviour analysis, Bayesian choice modelling and its estimation algorithms, residential self-selection, endogeneity issues, and disaster recovery. He is currently working on the integration of statistical machine learning and behavioural modelling.
