Arash Kalatian

Arash Kalatian is a Research Fellow in Choice Modelling and Machine Learning at the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS). As part of the NEXUS project, Arash works on combining machine learning and choice modelling techniques to better utilize novel data sources to capture traveller decisions in the changing mobility landscape. Arash received a PhD in Transportation Engineering in 2021 at LiTrans lab of Ryerson University, under the supervision of Bilal Farooq. In his PhD dissertation, Arash tried to investigate new dynamics of pedestrians in the context of smart cities, and in particular their interactions with autonomous vehicles.
